exeggutorhead: (Edmund the ghost librarian)
[The feed comes on to show not Envy, but the face of a slightly nervous-looking Yamask instead. Edmund has a favor he needs to ask, and he needs a human trainer to help him out. Shortly, the video blanks out and is followed by a text written in english. That's the lucky thing about being the reincarnation of a librarian, is that he remembers how to write.]

Hello, my name is Edmund and I am a Yamask. I need a human to help me, by escorting me into the Goldenrod Library records section so that I can look for something. My trainer wouldn't take me. So if there is anyone who can help me with this, could you please respond?

[Envy is looking uncharacteristically nervous when he turns the feed on. His hair is tied back in a messy ponytail--the sort of messy hinting that he didn't actually have any idea how to do it right and just wanted these green things out of his face--and there are bags under his eyes like he didn't sleep the night before. In fact, he hadn't, as he's been wandering Goldenrod with a purpose since the past afternoon. There's a worried-looking Tyranitar standing a few feet back and to the side, just barely in the frame. Envy clears his throat.]

A-ah, I heard there were a lot of people connected to this, i-is there anyone who can help me?

[Chimera carefully shuffles a few steps closer and leans down as though to nudge Envy's head, but Envy makes a noise that's almost a squeak and half hops to the side to get away, glancing back and forth from the camera to the Tyranitar nervously.]

I'm looking for my family. [He takes a deep breath, looking more earnest now.] I really need to find them, I think they're in danger.

If anyone can help me, if it's not too much trouble, please let me know.

[The feed turns off, and the Yamask-possessed Envy returns to his searching. Chimera follows behind him, very fretful over the sudden change and lack of recognition from his trainer.]

[The 'Gear feed comes on to show a Poke-center bed. A bed with what appears to be just a large pile of blankets in the middle, along with the odd edge of pillow…and a foot. And some long strands of green hair poking out the other end of the pile.]

Ursa!

[The 'Gear bounces up onto the bed, clearly being held by a Pokemon that was sitting on the nightstand, and moves around to where that hair is. Oh look, a face to go with it! Well, a face that's pressed into the blankets still, but it clearly belongs to Envy.]

Little Bear, if you have the 'Gear I'll turn you into a damn hat.

[This threat is lost on Little Bear. Envy lifts his head up to look at the screen, eyes narrowing blearily. His face is flushed and utterly miserable, and he's very clearly sick. This is actually Day Two of 'Envy has the flu for the first time in his life'. One arm shoots out of the blanket nest in an attempt to snatch the 'Gear back, but Little Bear is having none of that and flees back to the nightstand, laughing and turning the camera back on his trainer once he's out of reaching distance. And Envy is just too weak and sluggish to do much else about it. With a heavy, frustrated sigh, Envy rolls over to glare at the ceiling instead, still partially curled up and wrapped in blanket. And for a long moment, it seems like nothing else is going to happen, what with him refusing to play any more chase…at least, until his eyes go wide, staring up at something that isn't there.]

Teddi?

[There's no response, no indication that Envy even heard his Pokemon. And then, abruptly, he comes back to himself, scowling as he jerks up into a half sitting position and puts a hand up to grip the side of his head. What comes next is a very under-his-breath mutter.]

--out of my head!

[…yeah, he may have just forgotten that he's being filmed. He shoves the rest of the blankets off and stumbles out of bed and out of the room as quickly as he can manage to. He's wearing shorts and a loose shirt, but observant people might catch sight of part of the red ouroboros mark on his leg as he's leaving. Little Bear, now more confused and concerned than anything, turns off the feed to go follow.]

[Action for Pokemon Center]

[Envy doesn't get too far once he's left the room, and has sunk down to the floor, with his back against the wall and his knees up. He's looking both even more ill-tempered than he has been for the past couple days, and also disturbed by something. Either way, he should really not be out of bed in the hall and is probably in the way.]

[ooc: Video responses will come after he's been dragged/convinced back into the bed!]

[Today on Envy's 'Gear, there is a sad, worried Riolu face looking at everyone. Once it's on, Samus shifts the camera over to show Envy lying still on the bed, eyes half open and staring at nothing. Her trainer hasn't woken up yet, you guys, what if he just vanishes like her last two? So much distress here. Also in view are an extremely forlorn Tyranitar laying by the bed and taking up the entire space next to it, with his head resting next to Envy's shoulder. A Vaporeon is curled on Envy's chest, and a Luxray, Houndoom, and Arbok are all trying their very best to also fit on the bed despite collectively being about 300 pounds of giant cobra and dog and lion. It's kind of a wonder they all haven't managed to smother him yet.]

[But then, wait! Envy's head twitches to the side, and a small frown appears on his face. Seconds later, his eyes fly open and he jerks upright a few inches with a sharp intake of breath. Then he falls right back against the pillow, breathing heavily and his eyes still wide.]

..this is real?

[Chimera moves first. And for the next minute or so, all anyone would be able to see is a lot of fur and scales while Envy's pokemon loudly mob him with affection.]

HEY! Calm down all of you--Xerxes, no grooming, I've told youTAAAR [THONK] Ow, damn it Chimera be careful--

[And so on, until finally Envy manages to get them at least calm enough that he can grab the forgotten 'Gear himself. Despite his protests, though, he doesn't seem to have minded too much. He looks wary and completely worn out despite having just slept for a full week, hair going every which way even more than usual (especially the patch in front that fell victim to concerned lion grooming), and decidedly relieved to be out of those nightmares. In a moment, though, he's hidden most of that under a grin.]

Well, I'm back.

[He hesitates, very briefly.] Who else has woken back up?

[When the video feed switches on, the camera situated near the floor. There is clearly a Pokemon filming this discreetly. A listener will be able to hear a piano being played; it's a slow, almost sad melody, but the player has clearly performed the piece countless times. However, said player is not yet in view, the camera-Pokemon choosing instead to pan around at the scenery. It's a somewhat musty, cluttered music shop from the looks of things. The owner is at the front counter listening, apparently having decided not to attend the festival. The camera finally turns towards the piano itself, revealing Envy as the musician. There are green earmuffs and a similar colored scarf around his neck, and under that one might catch a glint of gold chain. On the bench beside him lie a pair of black gloves, and some sort of colorful bauble is partially poking out of a coat pocket.]

[As for his expression, it's almost unreadable, although there's a look in his eyes that hints this music as something familiar and very old, although not dear. After a minute or two more, however, his fingers still. He's still looking right ahead at the blank place where a sheet of music would go, and an almost wry smirk briefly crosses his face before he mutters--]

Yeah, Leo. I can play something happy, if you want.

[The words don't so much sound as though he's lost it and has started talking to a voice in his head, but more like this is some sort of reliving of memory. He pauses to think for a moment, before starting into another song. As he plays this one, anyone still watching will catch sight of something very rare: Envy actually looks genuinely happy. No smirks or teasing grins, just a small smile. At the end of the song, the smile fades, and he closes the lid over the keys so that he can rest an elbow on it to prop up his chin. He looks a little frustrated with himself, a little wistful, and his next words are barely audible.]

Heh. Guess I really am pathetic sometimes.

[With the little concert over, the feed ends.]
