[It's been a while since the network last got any broadcasts from Envy's 'Gear; just a day shy of a month since he woke back up in Johto kicking and screaming. He's spent that time getting re-used to the world, getting used to being human and to everything that comes with it all over again. It was easier to manage this time, even after being gone a year, and he's not sure if he likes thinking about that.]

[But when the 'Gear turns on, it's not pointed at Envy's face, but up at the sky and the treetops. From the lack of buildings and the forest, it looks like he's out walking just outside of Ecruteak. The camera's following the flying form of a smaller-than-average Tropius as she wheels and skims along the treetops as fast as her leafy wings can propel her and actually looking oddly graceful for such an un-aerodynamic creature. She backwings right in the sight of the camera, neck arched like a question mark, and peers down at her trainer before she's off in another direction again. But she did stop long enough for viewers to catch sight of the little blue Riolu perched on the top of her head, looking perfectly secure in her footing. Apparently this is far from the first time the two Pokemon have done this.]

I still don't know how something looking like that can even fly at all.

[And there's Envy. The camera lingers on the flying pair for a moment longer before he turns the camera to himself. He's sitting on the back of his Tyranitar while Chimera lays out and enjoys the sun, so he's looking a bit farther off the ground than usual. Envy looks a far cry from the raging, wild-eyed person who woke up a month ago; he's back to looking composed and neat and just a little smirkish. Adjusted back into Johto? Mostly. Forgotten the reason why he was so angry? Hell no.]

There's something I've been wondering about, and I figured I might as well try the network. Does anyone happen to come from a world with a place called…'London', I think it was? I don't know anything more than the name, but--

[He's interrupted by a pair of loud, startled cries from up in the air, and the video tilts and wobbles crazily as Envy jumps up and off Chimera's back and lets the arm holding it fall to his side.] Damn it, Izumi--!

Watchers might be able to catch the remnants of a bright glow coming from somewhere above the screen before they'll see that Tropius make an extremely ungraceful, skidding landing in the dirt, along with a newly evolved and newly very dusty Lucario. Turns out that suddenly carrying a much bigger passenger while in the middle of some fancy flying trick does terrible things for your balance. Envy's already walking over to the pair of them, but they're getting to their feet and look like their only injury was to their pride. The now-Lucario barely even looks like that's the case, more concerned with looking over her evolved form with a mix of wonder and smugness.]

Heh, I was wondering when you'd evolve, Samus. [Envy sounds almost proud of her, and gives the fur on her head a ruffle with his free hand. Izumi makes an indignant noise and butts her head against his side to demand attention too. Envy sighs and relents, ending the feed to free up his hand before he winds up getting knocked over by a flying bananasaur.]

[Today on Envy's 'Gear, there is a sad, worried Riolu face looking at everyone. Once it's on, Samus shifts the camera over to show Envy lying still on the bed, eyes half open and staring at nothing. Her trainer hasn't woken up yet, you guys, what if he just vanishes like her last two? So much distress here. Also in view are an extremely forlorn Tyranitar laying by the bed and taking up the entire space next to it, with his head resting next to Envy's shoulder. A Vaporeon is curled on Envy's chest, and a Luxray, Houndoom, and Arbok are all trying their very best to also fit on the bed despite collectively being about 300 pounds of giant cobra and dog and lion. It's kind of a wonder they all haven't managed to smother him yet.]

[But then, wait! Envy's head twitches to the side, and a small frown appears on his face. Seconds later, his eyes fly open and he jerks upright a few inches with a sharp intake of breath. Then he falls right back against the pillow, breathing heavily and his eyes still wide.]

..this is real?

[Chimera moves first. And for the next minute or so, all anyone would be able to see is a lot of fur and scales while Envy's pokemon loudly mob him with affection.]

HEY! Calm down all of you--Xerxes, no grooming, I've told youTAAAR [THONK] Ow, damn it Chimera be careful--

[And so on, until finally Envy manages to get them at least calm enough that he can grab the forgotten 'Gear himself. Despite his protests, though, he doesn't seem to have minded too much. He looks wary and completely worn out despite having just slept for a full week, hair going every which way even more than usual (especially the patch in front that fell victim to concerned lion grooming), and decidedly relieved to be out of those nightmares. In a moment, though, he's hidden most of that under a grin.]

Well, I'm back.

[He hesitates, very briefly.] Who else has woken back up?

[It's midmorning on Route 34, and this is Eeveecam. It seems Envy's newest addition is checking out the 'Gear, because all anyone will see are brown furry paws followed by a curious brown furry face for a few minutes. However, since the Gear isn't producing anything interesting for Juliet, she gets bored of it and leaves the view to go look for something else to do. And now anyone still watching will get to see what Envy's up to.]

[Namely, sparring with nothing. It's more just an exercise since he has no partner, but the sweeping kicks and flips are impressive, even if he's still much more limited than he used to be. There are hints of inhumanity in how he moves, and with everything there's a sort of anticipation of much more power than his current body holds. And a few times, when he manages something particularly elaborate, his mouth twists into a smirk and his eyes light up with a sort of vicious glee. However well he's been behaving in Johto, Envy is still dangerous, and this is one of the times it shows.]

[The display hasn't lasted for very long before viewers might notice something coming slowly through the taller grass out of Envy's sight. A large wild Pokemon, perhaps? It's easiest to catch sight of a waving tail with a bright yellow 'X' shape on the end, and maybe a black feline form slinking through the grass. When it gets to the edge of the small cleared area where Envy is, it stops, waits…]

[And with a loud cry the Luxray is pouncing, causing Envy to almost trip, catching himself enough to whirl and bring one arm up. But it's not like that's going to do anything.]
Xerxes!

[The lion Pokemon crashes right into him with enough force to send them both tumbling and rolling, and once they've stopped, stands up and off Envy and roars in a way that clearly sounds like smug laughter.]

[Envy glares at Xerxes for a moment before giving the Pokemon a wide, calculating smirk.]
So you think you can sneak up on me, Envy, and get away with it do you?

[He's on his feet quickly, and Xerxes roars again before taking off running with Envy in pursuit. Envy is, for lack of a better word, cackling, and catches up enough to ram into Xerxes' side. He throws one arm around Xerxes' neck and attempts to wrestle the Pokemon over, but Xerxes is entirely willing to fight back. Cue the play-fighting. Ladies and gentlemen: what Envy does when he thinks nobody is watching.]

[All day, Envy has watched the network and seen all the other people with their eggs hatching. And now, at one in the morning, the shaking and squeaking coming from the egg beside him was telling him that it was his turn. Really it's just lucky that he didn't somehow screw up and break it within a day of receiving it. So he can't help but be a little excited at least that he managed to get the egg to the point of hatching.]

[And France did say that he should call no matter what time it was.]

[The video is alternating between Envy's face and the cracking egg.]
France! It's hatching, are you awake? You said you wanted to see it hatch.

[When the camera comes on, all one could see would be a big purple head with bright yellow eyes, hissing curiously and mouthing at the 'gear.]

Hey, Ouroboros, get away from that. [The Ekans pulls away from the camera, and slithers offscreen. Envy is sitting a little ways away, with a very, very cuddly Larvitar in his lap and quite a few empty candy wrappers in a pile next to him. Despite the slightly annoyed tone, Envy mostly just sounds relieved. That crazy shit had finally stopped, and the world was back to normal. He wasn't even trying to push Chimera off, just petting him on the head and trying to stop him from nudging his chest hard enough to knock him over entirely. And soon, the Ekans can be seen wrapping itself up his waist to loop its top half around his shoulders like some kind of content, reptilian feather boa. Envy just frowns at them both.]

Who said this was cuddle time? I didn't. Why are you both so damn needy, it wasn't that long. [For once he doesn't sound that grouchy though, and he makes no move to push them off, even putting one of his arms around Chimera possessively. He sighs and shrugs, unwrapping another candy and popping it into his mouth.] Whatever, I guess you can stay where you are if you need to that badly.
