[Al's been moping around most of the day since he realized this morning that Edward and Winry had disappeared. It hurt, that he'd lost his family all over again...but he was glad they at least went home together. They could go home and live happily together like they deserved to.]

[It isn't until late afternoon that Al realizes that Envy...might actually deserve to know. He could hear an echo of Winry's voice in his imagination scolding him for trying to attack Envy at the circus--she would have wanted Envy to at least be told. So after a few false starts, Al finally manages to send a short message that doesn't actually have any vitriol in it.]

Winry's gone.

Envy? Are you there? Pick up.

_{[The front door comes open forcefully as Heather tromps in-- she managed to get some shopping done after all, but the trip got a little bit derailed in the form of some Very Unfortunate News.]

[Putting the bags down next to the door and nudging it shut behind her, Heather looks around and fights to keep her voice from sounding too pissed off right off the bat.]}

[It's past midnight when Lust knocks on Envy and France's bedroom door, barefoot and bundled into her bathrobe. She's sure she'll feel ridiculous in the morning, but right now the only person she wants is Envy. What's roused her from sleep at this odd hour has never happened before. She's still shaking.]

[She's just had her first nightmare.]

[Envy will be receiving a nicely wrapped bag of chocolates today! His are all in the shape of little Houndour. Along with the box there is a note:]

I must ask an enormous favor of you! I will not be around this Halloween, but Skellington House will live on under the care of Jimmy. I have asked Joker to help and I also extend my hand to you. You are the most talented makeup artist I have ever met. Please make this town into a seething mass of goblins and ghosts again. Help Jimmy pick strong spirited scare actors. I'm sure you know of one or two. Leftover costumes and paint are in the house.

[Makin my way downtown, driving fast, probably too fast because Asami just got behind her first set of wheels since being here, and she's always been a chronic speeder anyway.

Bad things come from driving too fast, Asami. Like horrible relationships. But when does she learn that lesson? Lol never.

So yeah, there are more than enough gaps behind parked cars and blind corners for some unknowing pedestrian to run out from behind as Miss Future Industries speeds on by.]

_{[When Lust had left the camp, Heather hadn't stayed either. As soon as the other woman had carried her things away, Heather had saddled up Carousel and taken off in the opposite direction, up a mountain trail they'd climbed before the blizzard hit. The snow is deep, but it melts in the Rapidash's path.]

[It's not until she's completely lost view of the camp save for a flicker of the campfire far below that she stops, cheeks red in the cold, and swings off of Carousel with a visible puff of breath.]

[The Rapidash whickers, giving her trainer a gentle nudge, and Heather pats her nose distractedly as she fumbles her 'Gear out.]

[She needs to clear her head, in more ways than one.]

[But Henry's been trying to stay out of all this as much as possible, and poor Phoenix had only wanted some quality time on the road and hadn't remotely asked for all this drama to be dumped in his lap.]

[There's really only one person Heather can think of to call about this.]}

Envy, you won't fucking BELIEVE who showed up at camp today.

[By now, Lust is nearly back to Goldenrod. She supposes it's about time she gives Envy a call - he's the one responsible for it all. So she does, from a comfortable hotel room. She looks visibly better already - put together and rested.]

_{[The last time Heather had called Envy, she'd been almost in hysterics. Now she just sounds... very, very tired.]}

Phoenix disappeared this morning.

I think Henry really wants to come home so I told him he didn't have to keep going with me if he didn't want.

Just figured I should let you know he'd be on his way soon.

Shadows fall long across the circus grounds.

Without ceremony or grace, the flap to Envy's make-up and costuming tent is wrenched aside and there in the opening stands a monolith in overalls, haloed by the sun, looming like the judgement of Arceus himself. He is seven feet tall. He is five hundred pounds.
