He's better at following directions than he looks. And more adaptable. But I'm not going after him. He wouldn't listen to me anymore anyway, I'm a traitor now.

It's funny; the name just came to me. I didn't use one of the names of the people I knew in Amestris or anything.

[He doesn't sound worried, just amused.]

Who the hell would recruit a child into that organization anyway?

[Though Greed doesn't expect an answer to it. It's a pain in the ass, but if the kid keeps his head down, he's not going to be harmed, right? It's not like Greed cares too much since Wrath isn't part of the oddball family he has in Johto, but if the kid got seriously injured, it'll be awkward.]

There was a time when I was the traitor and you were the one following orders. It doesn't sit right with me. If the kid goes in too deep, he's never coming out.

It's not the same thing as that! [Bringing it up is CHEATING. He doesn't want to give any shits whatsoever about Wrath and thinking about it like that makes it more difficult.] I've got my reasons for not wanting anything to do with him.

[Envy is very glad that Greed can't see his face right now, because wow he sure is making an interesting one. If he'd been drinking something, he would have choked on it.]

[He hasn't heard Greed's voice saying that name in a long, long time, but he still hasn't forgotten. How could he?]

[But...he's not so sure he should even say anything and make it awkward. After all, Greed's going to have to keep using it if he's going to keep talking to Wrath. Better not say anything. So after his weird silence, he makes his voice go back to the same sort of tone he had before.]

The brat'll be fine. I'd be surprised if the Rockets aren't begging for someone else to take him within a week.

[Unfortunately, since Greed can't see Envy's face, he has no idea that something's amiss. He's not sure how to take the pause, but it's not something Greed is going to worry about.]
