"Hey, this is Envy. I'm busy or not around, so say whatever you want here and I might get back to you about it."

[Envy is very glad that Greed can't see his face right now, because wow he sure is making an interesting one. If he'd been drinking something, he would have choked on it.]

[He hasn't heard Greed's voice saying that name in a long, long time, but he still hasn't forgotten. How could he?]

[But...he's not so sure he should even say anything and make it awkward. After all, Greed's going to have to keep using it if he's going to keep talking to Wrath. Better not say anything. So after his weird silence, he makes his voice go back to the same sort of tone he had before.]

I'll remember that, if it comes up.

[He snorts.]

The brat'll be fine. I'd be surprised if the Rockets aren't begging for someone else to take him within a week.

[Unfortunately, since Greed can't see Envy's face, he has no idea that something's amiss. He's not sure how to take the pause, but it's not something Greed is going to worry about.]

Thanks. This is probably gonna come back to bite me in the ass, but the longer I can keep it up the better. One of us needs to keep an eye on the kid.

[But the idea that Team Rocket is going to regret recruiting him is kind of funny, admittedly. He laughs quietly.]

[Envy trails off, remembering how that conversation had ended. He hadn't thought anything of his wording at the time, when he thought that Wrath would be in New Bark. But now...]

[Envy's face, meet Envy's palm.]

[As much as Greed hates wailing, Wrath is a child. It goes without saying that he'd be a pain in the ass.

But that can wait because Envy's reaction just now doesn't sound good.]

He was upset about me being a traitor and started going on about teams, and I told him he'd have to go find a new one.

[Envy pinches the bridge of his nose in frustration.]

And once he gets his mind set on something, he doesn't let it go.

I guess I'm not surprised. He's just a kid; he must have been so easy for Dante to manipulate.
