[The feed opens on the curious face of a young girl, around ten years old. She's got long black hair, and oddly bright turquoise eyes. She seems delighted at having gotten the Pokegear to turn on, but she doesn't say a word. On the side of the video, there's another, taller person walking, and the little girl is holding onto the back of their shirt--yes, a normal shirt today--with her other arm, but their face isn't visible.]

Hey! I challenge you to a battle!

[The little girl's head lifts up at the shout coming from somewhere in front of the pair, and the forgotten 'Gear tilts to show that the one she's been following after is Envy.]

[…which begs the question of why the hell is there a little kid following Envy around. Spoiler: she's his Zorua. Envy raises an eyebrow at the challenger.]

Didn't I beat you yesterday?

Yesterday doesn't matter! I've been training my Drowzee and I'm going to win!

Suit yourself. [There's a smirk spreading across Envy's face now. After there's the unmistakable sound of a Pokemon being released from its ball and a cry of 'Drow!', he grins, not looking down.] Lilith, why don't you handle this one?

[And with that, the little girl who'd been holding the camera grins back up at him and nods, puts the 'Gear down on the ground, and runs out to face the Drowzee. And with the 'Gear on the ground, there's a semi-decent view of the battle area and one very confused teenage trainer.]

What? That's not a Pokemon, you can't send--

Faint Attack! [The little girl, apparently Lilith, doesn't waste any time before executing the ordered attack, knocking the Drowzee right out before either it or its trainer has the chance to recover from the surprise. Then she turns to skip back to Envy, snickering and looking very proud of herself. …Really, her expression looks exactly like one that Envy would make. And, as Envy seems to have noticed the 'Gear and has picked it up, it quickly becomes clear that the two of them are wearing the same damn smirk. Envy certainly doesn't seem to mind that his successful trick was caught on camera.]

Pokemon have all sorts of useful abilities, don't they?

[And with that, he ends the feed. But he'll be out in Goldenrod city the rest of the day, Lilith still following behind him and still illusioned to look like a child, for anyone to encounter. As a note, people who spend a lot of time around Envy may have already seen Lilith wearing this particular illusion.]

[Video]

[Hey, Envy's actually turning on the video feed on purpose today! He's been pretty scarce since Nanao disappeared, but these last few days of the singing Pokemon appear to have caught up with him anyway. He's grinning from ear to ear, no trace of a smirk for once, and actually looks genuinely happy, something the grand majority of Johto has probably never seen out of him. TODAY IS A WONDERFUL DAY, GUYS.]

You know, I think I like Valentine's Day.

[He laughs.] It's finally warm out, and I even got an egg this morning. Anyone know what might hatch out of one that's red and black?

[…well at least he'll be happy about having to take care of another egg for one day. And he sounds particularly pleased about the colors. He leans a little closer to the camera.]

And I've got a date tonight. [He's so happy over this. It looks so weird on him. But he's clearly very, very proud of this fact and he wants to share it with all of you because you're all his friends right? Friendship is the best!]

I think I get why this holiday's so popular now.

[That seems to be all for now, and with one last grin, Envy shuts off the feed. thank goodness]

[Action]

[Envy's taking advantage of the nice weather to wander the streets of Goldenrod! He's got a smile on his face and is full of nice, friendly feelings from the Pokemon singing. This may be your only chance to encounter him being this pleasant, take it while you still can!]

[It's been a while since the network last got any broadcasts from Envy's 'Gear; just a day shy of a month since he woke back up in Johto kicking and screaming. He's spent that time getting re-used to the world, getting used to being human and to everything that comes with it all over again. It was easier to manage this time, even after being gone a year, and he's not sure if he likes thinking about that.]

[But when the 'Gear turns on, it's not pointed at Envy's face, but up at the sky and the treetops. From the lack of buildings and the forest, it looks like he's out walking just outside of Ecruteak. The camera's following the flying form of a smaller-than-average Tropius as she wheels and skims along the treetops as fast as her leafy wings can propel her and actually looking oddly graceful for such an un-aerodynamic creature. She backwings right in the sight of the camera, neck arched like a question mark, and peers down at her trainer before she's off in another direction again. But she did stop long enough for viewers to catch sight of the little blue Riolu perched on the top of her head, looking perfectly secure in her footing. Apparently this is far from the first time the two Pokemon have done this.]

I still don't know how something looking like that can even fly at all.

[And there's Envy. The camera lingers on the flying pair for a moment longer before he turns the camera to himself. He's sitting on the back of his Tyranitar while Chimera lays out and enjoys the sun, so he's looking a bit farther off the ground than usual. Envy looks a far cry from the raging, wild-eyed person who woke up a month ago; he's back to looking composed and neat and just a little smirkish. Adjusted back into Johto? Mostly. Forgotten the reason why he was so angry? Hell no.]

There's something I've been wondering about, and I figured I might as well try the network. Does anyone happen to come from a world with a place called…'London', I think it was? I don't know anything more than the name, but--

[He's interrupted by a pair of loud, startled cries from up in the air, and the video tilts and wobbles crazily as Envy jumps up and off Chimera's back and lets the arm holding it fall to his side.] Damn it, Izumi--!

Watchers might be able to catch the remnants of a bright glow coming from somewhere above the screen before they'll see that Tropius make an extremely ungraceful, skidding landing in the dirt, along with a newly evolved and newly very dusty Lucario. Turns out that suddenly carrying a much bigger passenger while in the middle of some fancy flying trick does terrible things for your balance. Envy's already walking over to the pair of them, but they're getting to their feet and look like their only injury was to their pride. The now-Lucario barely even looks like that's the case, more concerned with looking over her evolved form with a mix of wonder and smugness.]

Heh, I was wondering when you'd evolve, Samus. [Envy sounds almost proud of her, and gives the fur on her head a ruffle with his free hand. Izumi makes an indignant noise and butts her head against his side to demand attention too. Envy sighs and relents, ending the feed to free up his hand before he winds up getting knocked over by a flying bananasaur.]

[Today on Envy's 'Gear, there is a sad, worried Riolu face looking at everyone. Once it's on, Samus shifts the camera over to show Envy lying still on the bed, eyes half open and staring at nothing. Her trainer hasn't woken up yet, you guys, what if he just vanishes like her last two? So much distress here. Also in view are an extremely forlorn Tyranitar laying by the bed and taking up the entire space next to it, with his head resting next to Envy's shoulder. A Vaporeon is curled on Envy's chest, and a Luxray, Houndoom, and Arbok are all trying their very best to also fit on the bed despite collectively being about 300 pounds of giant cobra and dog and lion. It's kind of a wonder they all haven't managed to smother him yet.]

[But then, wait! Envy's head twitches to the side, and a small frown appears on his face. Seconds later, his eyes fly open and he jerks upright a few inches with a sharp intake of breath. Then he falls right back against the pillow, breathing heavily and his eyes still wide.]

..this is real?

[Chimera moves first. And for the next minute or so, all anyone would be able to see is a lot of fur and scales while Envy's pokemon loudly mob him with affection.]

HEY! Calm down all of you--Xerxes, no grooming, I've told youTAAAR [THONK] Ow, damn it Chimera be careful--

[And so on, until finally Envy manages to get them at least calm enough that he can grab the forgotten 'Gear himself. Despite his protests, though, he doesn't seem to have minded too much. He looks wary and completely worn out despite having just slept for a full week, hair going every which way even more than usual (especially the patch in front that fell victim to concerned lion grooming), and decidedly relieved to be out of those nightmares. In a moment, though, he's hidden most of that under a grin.]

Well, I'm back.

[He hesitates, very briefly.] Who else has woken back up?
