Hypothetically, if you have to use a fire extinguisher on an oven, the oven would still work afterwards right?

[Any of Envy's housemates who came to investigate the mix of angry and then panicked shouting that happened shortly before that text went out will be able to find him sitting on the edge of the couch, with flecks of foam all over his front and in his hair, staring at the door to the kitchen like he'd like to murder it. There's a thick, acrid smoke spilling out of the doorway. It smells a little like oranges. But mostly just nasty burnt food.]

[Looking inside the kitchen will reveal batter covered dishes, a frying pan filled to the edges with a smoldering black thing which may have been a pancake, and a pot that's the source of most of the smoke. It's also clearly what the fire extinguisher was aimed at. No, that wasn't a hypothetical question at all.]

[Envy, in the midst of the frustration, is hoping that he's not going to have to buy Greed a new oven.]

So is this something that's happened to you or is it just general oven knowledge that most people know?

Uh...crepes suz-something, this handwriting is hard to read.

But I'd seen someone make it a ton of times, and he made it look a lot easier.

Well most of the foam is on the stovetop, I haven't gotten too good a look at it yet. I don't think the oven itself is where all the smoke is coming from.

Oh...do you know how to make that?

I didn't see it in any of France's recipes.

[WHERE HE'S GETTING THE RECIPES IS HALF THE PROBLEM. They're all complicated and French and the handwriting is hard to read.]

And I haven't been out of this city since...damn, I think it was last year. I could use a change of scenery.

...So you know how places around here will kind of hire people whether they have a lot of experience or not?

I worked in a bakery in Violet City for a while. They hired me when I'd still worked exactly zero days in my life. It was a learning experience.

It depends on the chemicals involved, but as long as you clean it up quickly it should be fine. Foam extinguishers should be all right, though you'll want to use a lot of water to dilute the foam when you're washing it. Make sure the area is ventilated while you're cleaning it up, and afterwards. You might want to protect your hands while doing it since some of the chemicals can be harmful to the skin, but if you've diluted it enough it should be fine. Allow it to dry out before you try using it again.

Aww...maybe you'll be able to do it next time? Or you could have somebody help you.

To think I used to travel all the time at one point. I settled down in Goldenrod and didn't look back.

It's been nice, getting out of the city. The house should do it as a group this year. It'll be nice, traveling together again.

....I can't think of a single recipe concept within your skill level that calls for flaming alcohol.

[Fortunately, while the kitchen is still smoky and smells terrible, it's not toxic. Envy holds a hand over his face to block out some of the smell, grimacing as he looks at the mess on the stovetop.]

So did they kick you out after you wrecked an oven or did you get to stay on? They've got to be used to it if they hire anyone.
