Once Envy was no longer being devoured by the storm, Henry reeled backward, letting go, and spinning around to look at the...new problem that they had.
There were so many.
"There are so many."
Henry slowly brought a hand to the side of his brow as though he suddenly had a headache. What on earth were they going to do with them? A terrible rattling startled Henry out of his shock because now that the window was swinging free it was noisier than ever.
He had to finish what Envy started!
With a grunt, Henry steadied the window and reached up to twist the latches. A last Pikachu managed to flatten itself out like a creepy little rodent pancake and squeeze through the gap without losing the tip of her tail. With a loud snap, the portal to the Pikachu dimension was shut.
The window is closed, but they've still got a big Problem.
"How are we going to get them out?!"
Envy's trying to sit up, and the ten seconds his head was outside in the downpour was enough to get him dripping wet too, and he tries to get his hair out of his face enough to try and see the rodent horde. There are so many, and they're all scurrying around exploring or shaking water off.
Envy drags his hands down his face, slowly.
That's when thunder crashes particularly loudly, and the lights flicker and go out.
"I could go get the broom...or we could get a big blanket and try to scare them into a corner."
Henry had seen something similar on an episode of No More Box Space on television.
But then he was out of ideas because they were plunged into darkness.
"Oh."
Well that sure happened.
"Boo, come out!"
In a burst of red light that sent all their new housemates' ears standing straight up, the Litwick appeared and yawned. They could now see, but at the cost of Henry growing increasingly drowsy right out of the gate.
Envy's face screws up with an unsure expression when Henry calls Boo out for exactly that reason. He doesn't want to wind up with Henry asleep on the floor and having to deal with the swarm all by himself.
They'll just have to find the lantern quickly.
"I think I saw it in the front closet last?"
OFF THEY GO TO FIND IT. Envy walks close to Henry just in case he keels over.
With Boo on his shoulder, Henry stumbled along. Closet...closet. He remembered there being a closet somewhere.
"Oh yeah..." He broke into another enormous yawn and one of the nearby Pikachu copied him. If all else failed, maybe all the yellow creatures would just fall asleep.
Soon enough the closet presented itself and Henry cracked it open oh so carefully in case Wrath was in there and decided to surprise him.
Luckily for everyone, Wrath is not hiding in the closet like a goblin today. The camping lantern isn't immediately visible, but Envy could have sworn they stuck it in here last time they used it. So he goes digging through all the coats and umbrellas, until he gets to the back corner. And there it is!
"Found it! Here, put Boo away before you fall over."
He flicks on the light, further illuminating the number of Pikachu that are milling around their feet.
Boo was patted for doing a great job and dismissed. It only took a few moments for Henry to straighten back up. His eyes widened at the flood of yellow creatures they were now left with.
"Envy...what are we going to--ah!"
One of them was CLIMBING HIM. Another had started wiping itself off on his pants leg.
Envy is staring too, almost as wide eyed, and jumps when Henry shouts. He reaches over and plucks the yellow rodent off of Henry with no real resistance from the Pikachu...but now he's holding a Pikachu.
"....well, shit. I don't know if we can do anything about it."
He's also half soaking wet himself he doesn't have the patience to herd rats right now. He sets the squirming Pikachu back down on the floor, but it sticks around near their feet. In fact, more and more of them are noticing the light and are coming over to them. Envy sighs heavily.
"Let's just go in the kitchen I guess, before they drip all over the floor and we get in trouble with Greed later."
Henry nodded and picked his way through the pikachu like a cat walking through dew. Despite his best efforts, at least two more were climbing him by the time they were all standing on the kitchen tile.
"I didn't pay attention to the weather report...how long is this supposed to last? What are we going to say when someone comes home to find all of this?"
Henry stated this plainly and without bias. Almost without realizing it, he reaches down to pat one of the shivering Pikachus attached to his right knee.
"Yeah, but that doesn't mean everyone needs to know."
The Pikachu are all beginning to really gather in around them from where they were scattered around the living room before, making the kitchen floor look more like some kind of moving yellow carpet than linoleum. Envy looks down at the squeaking horde.
"...maybe. Do we have enough treats? I don't want to start giving them anything if we don't have enough."
Henry gave a thoughtful hum. He knew what he had to do.
"Be right back."
The taller man retreated back into the gloomy house, Pikachu and all, and much thumping around is heard. Finally he returns with a humorously large bag of Dodritos.
"If they all get one each that should be enough."
As he speaks, his voice is tight. This is quite the sacrifice he's making here.

He gestured to the sea of yellow rats.
"What if more come in when they open the door?"

Envy stops and takes a moment to wring his hair over the sink. Ugh, it's going to take forever to dry...
"We can just tell them what happened...sort of. In a way that makes it sound less like I fell out the window."

The Dodritos.
"I'll buy you a new one."

"Alright, everyone, line up. If you know what a line is. You're rats. I don't know."
Thunder cracks overhead again. Somewhere down the street, a pair of Houndoom start yowling.
"It's going to be a long night."
