[Huh, it's strange to see him looking like that. He wonders if something's going on.]

How do you come up with your own face? I've been thinking about it for a very long time, but I'm not sure if I am doing it right and Papa has said that you are very good at it since I am named after you.

[There's a brief pause.]

This is Invidia. [Probably should have lead with that.]

[Yes, probably. Because Envy was pretty confused there for a second. But when Invidia says his name, he realizes what's going on and grins.]

I didn't know you could talk, that'll make this much easier.

[aka yes he will help. A shapeshifting apprentice hell yes.]

Is there anything you've tried out that you've liked so far?

I learned... [Because there was a train robbery but that's a fun story for another time.]

I like purple eyes. You and Papa both have them, so it's nice to have for myself as well. Past that... I'm not sure. A little taller, maybe. I don't like it when I'm short, even if Angel says there's nothing wrong with it.

Heh, well purple eyes are the best color.

[Just a little biased there.]

So there's two features you want, tall and purple eyes. Is there a hair color you like, do you want to be thin or strong-looking? You get to choose everything about yourself.

[He pauses, tapping his chin.]

Can you keep a secret?

That's part of what makes it so hard... There's too much.

[Invidia has been living in Goldenrod for some time now with plenty of time just watching all sorts of different people. The sheer variety is enough to break a poor fox's brain.]

[At the mention of secret keeping, he perks up.]

Yes! I'm good at that. Secrets are important for a circus.

[Envy makes sure to lean closer to the camera and look properly conspiratorial. This is an important secret, Invidia.]

What I look like now? Isn't anything like what I was born looking like. I mostly picked out the features of this one because I wanted to look as different as I could from that form.

[He's hoping this secret actually does get kept; it's not something he tells many people. He leans back to show that the secret sharing is done, thinking again.]

You probably don't have that same problem, but is there anything you know you don't want to look like? Helps narrow it down.

[Invidia leans in as well, giving a serious nod at the information he's been told.]

I won't tell. [He's honest about that, too. Joker's main team is reliable like that.]

[The question about what he doesn't want seems to make him think hard, bringing a hand up to his chin. A moment passes before he answers.]

Boring. I don't want to be boring. [Nailed it?] But I don't want to be fluffy either. I don't want... [And he makes a small 'burst' gesture with his fingers.] That.

Papa and Angel are like 'that' even if they're not fluffy... Does that make sense?

'That'...over the top, you mean?

Not boring, not fluffy, and not over the top...hmm, there's definitely ways to manage that. And I'd never help someone look boring.

[There's some thought to that phrase before Invidia nods.]

It's good for them, because that's how they are. But I'm... quieter. So it's not me.

What should I try first, do you think?

[Envy nods too, thinking.]

What's your favorite color?

Red and teal.

...That's two, I hope that's okay.

'Course it is.

You could use teal for your hair, if you made it dark enough. If it was nearly black, with just a bit of color to it, it's not boring but it doesn't stick out too much either.

[Reaching up to teh end of red hair, a pink light goes over it, leaving behind a sort of teal shade instead. Invidia experiments a little bit, changing the color and seeing how he feels about it.]

Like you?

[A snicker.]

Yeah, I guess that is a little like me. But if you don't like it, you can do whatever you do like.

It takes a lot of trying things out and choosing what feels the most like yourself.

Yeah... But, I think this is a good start now. It's a lot more narrowed down.

And until I find something I like, I've been told it's okay if I look like this!
