So your trainer went out somewhere and hasn't come back?
[Godzilla isn't the only one to have noticed the large numbers of Ghost types. And all those Drowzee...he'd even seen some of them near the windows the other night!]
[He comes back down into the pool with a splash that sends a small tidal wave all the way down to the shallow end, making the sharks bob in place.]
She got up early and went for a walk, which I DON'T LIKE because 85% of accidental injuries occur between the hours of 7 AM and 12 PM, but she doesn't like it when I try to STOP her, so I TELL myself EVERY TIME that it'll be all right, but she's ALWAYS back by now!
[His scaly chest is heaving. He might be hyperventilating.]
[He normally IS the rational one, and to be frank, Godzilla has kind of come to expect that. So for the Tyranitar to be visibly agitated and worried... oh boy.]
[Initiate Anxiety Feedback Loop.]
Oh no, him too?!
What if they're hurt?
What if they're DEAD??
Human beings are so fragile! They don't just faint like we do!
I don't think they're dead! Mine is very good about not dying!
[But he's still thinking about it. What would happen if he wasn't there to guard him or stop him from doing anything rash? That was what he always did and he couldn't now!]
Lilith went with mine, I'm sure they'll find each other! And someone will be there.
[He doesn't sound at all calm or convinced, but he has to reassure them both somehow.]
[Well, the surprise snaps Chimera out of his own worry spiral, at least a little, and he shakes his head slightly as though to clear it back up before turning and heading for the gate.]
[Going to find them sounds like the best option, no matter if they're fast or not. This is serious.]
[Besides, that determination, no matter how anxious, is infectious.]
[He is just dripping EVERYWHERE. It's a good thing Water-types are usually built to weather the cold okay, because it is one CHILLY October morning.]
That's a start-- but what if he didn't know what direction MY trainer actually went in? What if they're in two DIFFERENT places?
[He stops to use one very delicate claw to undo the latch out of the yard. He could easily take a big step right over the fence, but no, he has to daintily let himself through the gate.]
[Now that they've got a clear Goal, something to do about the situation...not to mention the fact that neither of them is alone in this, Chimera is starting to calm back down and focus.]
[He also carefully closes the gate behind him as he follows.]
Well...we can't split up. Then we wouldn't know where anyone was, and couldn't tell each other if we found something.
The only thing we know for sure is which way my trainer went, so we should go that way first.
[Now it's his turn to reach out and carefully pat Godzilla on the shoulder, even if he is dripping with chilly water.]
[At first, the Feraligatr ALMOST looks like he's going to protest-- because OH MY GOD CHIMERA DON'T YOU REALIZE WE'LL COVER MORE GROUND IF WE SPLIT UP???????-- but then the sense of it hits him. The Tyranitar is right.]
[He nods, a little sheepishly-- the comforting pat is nice, but the only thing that will REALLY make him feel okay is finding his trainer. 8(]
[Chimera nods, decisively. They're going to go and find their trainers and everything will be just fine soon, he's sure of it. He has to be sure of it.]
Let's go, this won't take long!
--LATER--
[Chimera lies despondently on the floor of the largest holding cell in the Goldenrod City jail.]
[How could this have happened? This is the worst possible thing.]
I'm supposed to be the one keeping my TRAINER out of jail...
[Godzilla is sitting up, but is no more active than Chimera is. He's not even anxiously pacing, which is a god damn miracle, but at the cost of a destroyed spirit. Because he's just sitting there with his snout pressed forlornly against the bars on the window.]
[He doesn't say anything at first.]
[But then...]
This is it, Chimera.
If my trainer is alive, she's going to kick me off the team.
And I'll have to live in the sewer.
[Who put these ideas in his head?]
[No one.]
[He came up with them himself and just decided that they were definitely, objectively true.]

[Here's where he'd normally be very collected and calm and reassure Godzilla that absolutely everything was fine.]
[But he knows it's not fine, and Envy's missing too and had been panicking over something, and, and...]
[Chimera shifts from foot to foot, tail waving behind him. If he had actual hands to wring, he would.]
Envy ran out hours ago, and something was WRONG. And he didn't take me with him! Something's going on!

Who KNOWS what'll happen!!
no subject
I've ALWAYS been there before. And he's so reckless without me...
no subject
We HAVE to find them! They could be dead or WORSE!!
We need to GO!
[And then he lets go and starts to haul himself up out of the pool, FULL OF (ANXIETY-INDUCED) DETERMINATION.]

Nooo...that won't happen.
She wouldn't do that to you.
no subject
[He whips his head around. His giant crocodile lips are quivering.]
It's the sewer for me.
That's assuming that our trainers are even alive.
If they're not... we might be put on a chain gang.
I saw a movie about those.
They're awful.
no subject
[Chimera's face falls at the reminder that the two of them are possibly in terrible danger and now they can do even LESS to help.]
They have to be all right.
no subject
She doesn't send him out of a Pokeball to ride and fight other Pokemon with, either!
[But he trails off with a sad croon, turning back to STARE DRAMATICALLY out the bars.]
I wonder if they're thinking of us right now.
