[The fact that the medicine is so...weirdly colorful is bizarre, and if it wasn't for the fact that she'd just called him on the poison, he might have balked again.]
[Instead, he just sniffs and decides not to acknowledge the point she made.]
Whatever. So are you just going to stick those in my mouth?
[She prods the tablets in between his teeth and then withdraws. He doesn't need help with the chewing, after all. Enjoy that bubblegum flavor, Envy!]
... Now while that sets in, I'm gonna untie your wrist and try to put a bandage on it. And the promise extends to all hand-related acts of violence, too. Got it?
[This time she doesn't wait for confirmation-- she's pretty confident that he's not stupid enough to try and punch her in the face while his three other limbs are still tied.]
[Envy, true to his word (for once), doesn't bite her when she sticks the medicine in his mouth, and he makes a startled face when he actually does start chewing because what the hell kind of taste is that?]
[And then it goes away while he tries to keep looking sullen at her, but for that brief moment he'd almost looked like normal.]
[He definitely also weighed his options for doing anything about his wrist being untied and came to the same conclusion as she did: Not Worth It. So the only move he makes is to wince a little again as she unties him. Even if she's being careful, any amount of movement isn't pleasant.]
Sure, got it. How fast is this going to start working?
I can try and get you something stronger later when the others get back.
[Because like hell is she gonna run any extended errands while Envy is literally immobile and helpless, no matter how much of a pain in the ass he is right now.]
[And then she stops talking because binding that wrist is gonna HURT and she needs to concentrate.]
[He grits his teeth hard and curls the fingers of his other hand into a white-knuckled fist when she starts binding the wrist, because like hell is he going to show any more weakness than he already has to this girl.]
[It's probably a good thing that he's tied down, too, because while he can take a lot of pain when it happens all at once, it's less easy when he's already been in pain and it's just stacking on top of that.]
[She speaks through gritted teeth of her own. She's gotten good at weathering pain herself (hard not to when you've been through the Otherworld), but jeez, watching HIM in pain is surprisingly hard.]
[Fortunately, she's also good at first aid so binding the sprain goes relatively quickly. He'll find that while it doesn't eliminate the pain entirely, having something firm cushioning the joint does seem to muffle it a little, somehow.]
[She stands up, wiping at her brow. She'd sweated more during that than when they all collectively carried him in...]
[The speed she manages to wrap the wrist up is welcome, at least, as is the lessened pain.]
[But he noticed her looking unhappy herself, and in spite of him being sure that she's somehow behind this? All of her behavior points to her seeming to actually give a shit about him. Or whatever act he'd put on before, anyway.]
[He can use that.]
[So he frowns, but makes himself sound a little less mean, a little more grateful. But not too much, not a complete turnaround.]
...I guess you're not completely awful. You really do care, don't you?
[If he's careful, maybe he can convince her that he can be untied before the other two get back.]
[SORRY ENVY, YOU SAID YOU WERE GOING TO KILL HER EARLIER. She's not that much of a softie, and even if it's hard seeing him this way, she knows better than to give him the benefit of the doubt.]
[She even gets a wry look at the remark, raising a brow and looking at him with half-lidded eyes.]
It's hard work, but someone's gotta stop you from wrecking yourself.
... Yeah, I think maybe if you hadn't said, "I'm going to kill every last one of you!" five and a half times on the way in here, maybe your bonds would be a little looser.
[She recognizes the signs when she sees them, and has NO DESIRE to stick around for another patented Envy Screechfest. All the more reason to just LEAVE and go downstairs for a bit-- wait a minute, has he eaten or had anything to drink today? Probably not, if this is his 'first time' being human... dammit, why aren't Al and Joker back yet?]
[OH WELL she can't exactly try and get him to drink a cup of water when he's on the verge of trying to transcend right out of the ropes by virtue of pure rage.]
Fine. I'm really scared of all the things you're totally gonna do from the safety of your big comfy chair. Happy?
[She makes her way to the door, visibly shaking her head, and pulls one of the tiny red and white balls that Envy's undoubtedly seen all over the place during his hours of freedom. One flash of white light later, and Alessa the Absol is released on the bed, already glaring balefully in Envy's direction.]
Make sure he doesn't knock the chair over and wind up stuck on the floor. I'll be back.
[While Envy has seen the strange balls, he has NOT seen them in use.]
[Which means that he gets to be surprised enough at the large-ish chimera coming out of them in a beam of physics-breaking energy that it derails the building tantrum entirely. At least for the moment.]
[Heather gets to give Alessa her instructions and get all the way out the door before his brain catches back up to him.]
HEY! GET BACK HERE, I'M NOT GOING TO JUST--YOU CAN'T--!
[He cuts himself off after the door has shut and she's clearly gone off down the hallway, turning a glower of his own at Alessa. Who was actually a pretty good choice for this, considering the big scythe on her head, impressive claws, and angry-looking glare. Not a chimera he wants to chance messing with while he's tied to a chair and human.]
[So when Heather returns, she'll come back to that very same scowling glare-match, although as soon as she walks in he whips back up to aim his scowl at her.]
[She'd picked Alessa for pretty much THAT EXACT REASON, actually. Intimidating as hell, but not as likely to actually go over and physically sit on Envy as, say, Sunny. Alessa has mastered the 'all bite, no bark' look, and her hellhound-like red eyes just bring it all together.]
[So Envy can enjoy THAT staring contest for the twenty or so minutes that Heather's gone-- longer, actually, than would reasonably take to get a bag of ice from downstairs, but eventually, the doorknob does turn and open, Heather stepping in with the aforementioned ice under one arm and a styrofoam tray with a couple of plastic cups in it in the other.]
[She doesn't look at him just yet. HE'S BEEN BAD, HE CAN HAVE EYE CONTACT IN A FEW MINUTES. Instead, she busies herself setting the ice and the tray down on the table, and going over to the bed to scratch Alessa behind the ears.]
Yeah, sorry.
I figured you probably didn't eat or drink anything today. Right?
[His upper lip curls at the question...although honestly it's more of a cover than anything.]
[Because uh. No, he sure hasn't. He'd just kind of been trying to ignore the gnawing in his stomach or the itch at the back of his throat, and the pain in his wrist had made that easier. Hunger and thirst are human things.]
[And the less he admits to being human, the better.]
[That doesn't change that he's incredibly hungry and dehydrated, though.]
[Taking one of the cups from the tray, she comes back over and bends down in front of him, wiggling it slightly. SHE'S REALLY TRYING NOT TO BE SNARKY.]
Look, I'm sorry I was snippy earlier and I know this is awkward for both of us, but you need fluids, so here. This is a frapp.
... I know it doesn't mean anything to you at the moment, but I got your favorite.
[DOUBLE JAVA CHIP WITH LIKE FOUR TIMES THE NORMAL AMOUNT OF CHOCOLATE]
[SHE'S BEING FAR MORE PATIENT WITH HIM THAN HE REALLY DESERVES RIGHT NOW.]
[His glare turns wary again as she holds the cup out to him, but even he knows it wouldn't make sense for her to go an poison him now, after all that.]
If you're just trying to make me feel indebted to you, it won't work.
[He grumbles, but leans down and gets hold of the straw with his mouth, taking a sip.]
[His eyes widen in genuine surprise. It's the most "normal" his face has been all day.]
[That's really good. He keeps on drinking because also he was so thirsty he needs this liquid so badly.]
[HE CAN PAY HER BACK BY LETTING HER TEASE HIM MERCILESSLY AFTER THIS IS ALL OVER.]
I'm trying to make sure you don't keel over and die, more than anything else. Indebtment's just a perk.
[Okay, she couldn't help but be a little sarcastic on the landing there. Once he's taken a sip, she sets the cup carefully down on one of the chair arms. It's a BIG cup with a BIG straw, so he can still reach it, albeit a tad uncomfortably. But if she knows Envy, he'd rather be uncomfortable than have to have somebody else hold a drink to his mouth.]
[Then she leaves him alone for the moment, heading to the cupboard to get paper towels for the ice. Still, she nods at the cup over her shoulder.]
[He makes a disdainful noise into the straw, but he only stops drinking to let her move the cup. She's right that he greatly prefers it this way even if it is uncomfortable, but right now he doesn't have any snide comments because he's too busy practically chugging that frapp.]
[Although that leads to another issue.]
[Suddenly, yanking his head back up from the cup, he ducks his chin down and grimaces.]
Ow--hey! What is this, it hurts! You did try to poison me!
[Envy has just encountered brain freeze for the "first" time.]
no subject
[The fact that the medicine is so...weirdly colorful is bizarre, and if it wasn't for the fact that she'd just called him on the poison, he might have balked again.]
[Instead, he just sniffs and decides not to acknowledge the point she made.]
Whatever. So are you just going to stick those in my mouth?
I can't really reach anything with my hands.
[UUGGGHHH THIS IS SO UNDIGNIFIED HE HATES IT.]
no subject
[BECAUSE SHE KNOWS HE WOULD. SHE KNOWS.]
no subject
[His frown deepens, but he nods. He really wants that medicine.]
Fine. I promise, just give them to me.
[He opens his mouth just wide enough for her to put the tablets in.]
no subject
[She prods the tablets in between his teeth and then withdraws. He doesn't need help with the chewing, after all. Enjoy that bubblegum flavor, Envy!]

no subject
[She speaks through gritted teeth of her own. She's gotten good at weathering pain herself (hard not to when you've been through the Otherworld), but jeez, watching HIM in pain is surprisingly hard.]
[Fortunately, she's also good at first aid so binding the sprain goes relatively quickly. He'll find that while it doesn't eliminate the pain entirely, having something firm cushioning the joint does seem to muffle it a little, somehow.]

There.

[But he noticed her looking unhappy herself, and in spite of him being sure that she's somehow behind this? All of her behavior points to her seeming to actually give a shit about him. Or whatever act he'd put on before, anyway.]

How's it feel? Medicine kicking in yet?
no subject
[He hasn't entirely given up yet, though.]
Better, with the bandage. Better with my arm untied, too--you all had that tied pretty tightly before.
Surprised my wrist hadn't just gone numb.
no subject
... Yeah, I think maybe if you hadn't said, "I'm going to kill every last one of you!" five and a half times on the way in here, maybe your bonds would be a little looser.
Kinda basic cause and effect at play, there.
no subject
These ropes aren't going to hold me forever, you know.
I can still follow through on that.
no subject
[Heather straightens up, eyes threatening to roll right out of her head, and lets out a deep, put-upon sigh.]
Sure, okay.
I'm going to go get you some ice.
no subject
Don't act like I'm not even threatening you!
no subject
[OH WELL she can't exactly try and get him to drink a cup of water when he's on the verge of trying to transcend right out of the ropes by virtue of pure rage.]

Nobody dead yet?
Good.
no subject
[He is looking at that tray and the cups on it, though.]
What's all that? Is that what took so long?
no subject
Yeah, sorry.
I figured you probably didn't eat or drink anything today. Right?

Tch, no. Why?
no subject
You're fucking dehydrated as hell, bro.
[Taking one of the cups from the tray, she comes back over and bends down in front of him, wiggling it slightly. SHE'S REALLY TRYING NOT TO BE SNARKY.]
