Eighteenth Transformation [video/action for Ecruteak]

[Envy switches the video on to show himself sitting in what look like some of the higher branches of a tree, although not so high that he's in danger of his perch breaking. Someone is obviously enjoying the sun and warm weather Johto is having right now.]

[But while he looks to be in a good mood, there's also something he's been thinking about. Namely that he was informed of some events from his future by one Roy Mustang. Events that aren't going to end well for him. And while he'd prefer to think that Roy is just lying about it, it's still not something he'd like to chance. So, Johto, Envy has a question for you.]

Hey, for anyone that sees this. Say you found out about something from your future while you were here. Do you think it's possible to change it?

Sounds like your future turns out a lot better than mine.

[He is an antagonist after all.]

She's only a few months ahead of me, after all. Who knows what the next decade will bring.

That's always uncertain, yeah.

[He's quiet for a minute or two.] What I found out wasn't good. Didn't leave much room for uncertainty either.

{Craning her head upwards, and frowning - but when she speaks, her voice is soft.}

Did you...

[Another long pause before he speaks, and he's looking to the side and not at her, glaring at the ground.]

I get killed.

I see.

{She turns her head back down, and swallows heavily. If Envy looks down, he might just see a trail of tears poking out from underneath the blindfold.}

[Oh shit she's crying about it? Well, that snaps him out of his anger somewhat. Quick quick Envy, attempt humor to avert the crying!]

I'll change it for sure, don't worry. I've got way better things to do.

I - I know, but... {She bites her lip, and runs a hand up the trunk of the tree, looking for Envy's hand.}

I don't want you to go.

[Although Envy doesn't actually take her hand, after a moment of hesitation he does move his to where she'll be able to find it. He's not sure what to think about what she said; usually he's the one who'd ask for people not to leave him.]

Well...if I've gone home, I'll be gone from here anyway. But I won't die. Maybe I've gotten more stubborn about living from being here and that guy just doesn't know it.

{Searching hand is searching - and when she finds it, she'll be gripping it with a strength that may surprise Envy}

But - Envy, I don't want to forget you. And - and - what about every one else?

[It definitely does surprise him. But he doesn't pull his hand away.]

I don't want to forget anything. Or anyone I've met here.

So I'm not going to. [He sounds even more determined about this than he did about not dying.]

O-okay, good. {She sniffles, and wipes away the tears with the other hand.}

You better not vanish, or I swear I will break reality to find you.

. . .

You... I see you as, ah, _{how do I put this...}

[Envy is kind of glad that Nanao can't see the odd face he makes when she says she'd do that.] I don't plan on vanishing, so you won't have to go and do that anytime soon.

..As what?

{Straightening her spine, she says it clearly.} I see you as family, Envy. And I'd miss the heck out of you if you ever left.

[First, Envy stares. It takes him a minute or two to find words, and he's again glad that she can't actually see him because he's sure he looks ridiculous.]

You... [He trails off, and then tries to follow it up with a nonchalant laugh that doesn't come off as collected as he might have liked.] You could probably have picked someone better for family.

{She gives a little smile at the unsteadiness in his tone.}

And I could have picked much, much worse.
