[The pokegear turns on to show a scowling face. He's shivering quite a bit due to his completely impractical outfit, which hasn't improved his mood at all]

--is thing supposed to be a phone? Hey, whoever's on the other end of this, what the hell is this place? Where can I find that old man?

[the camera drops as Envy loses interest in it in favor of kicking at a happy looking Larvitar, who was nudging at his leg affectionately. The little pokemon doesn't seem to mind or even feel the kick, just coming right back to him after it's gotten back to its feet] Hey, I told you to get the hell out of here, stupid thing. What the hell kind of chimera are you anyway? [he turns his attention back to the 'gear, the image going all kinds of Cloverfield as he shakes the device and pushes buttons in an atempt to figure out what to do with it.]

[When he hears a voice he looks up, glaring when he recognizes the stupid kid from earlier but not moving from his position] I'm f-fine, l-leave me a-alone, dumb b-brat.

[His Larvitar is very happy to see someone else, maybe they can help his trainer! :D He goes up to Takato and gestures wildly] Laarvitar! Lar!

[Takato kneels down to Larvitar's level and listens patiently.]

I don't think I really understand. I wish you guys could talk like digimon can.

[He looks back up at Envy.]

...But, you really don't look good. Are you sick?

[Envy just snorts and turns away. He can't believe a human's seeing him weak like this.] I s-said I'm fine. [as if to prove it, he stands up, still somewhat shaky from having tried to push himself as hard as he normally could earlier] See?

[This attitude seemed really, really familiar.]

[He bares his teeth in a scowl, getting rapidly fed up with this whole business.] Unless you've got an extra jacket and some matches for a fire so this weak human body doesn't freeze, then there's not much you can do, kid. Why do you even care? I could kill you if I felt like it. [here, Takato, have some defense mechanism in response to your concern. But judging by his condition right now, the threats are pretty empty.]

[Yeah, definitely a familiar attitude. Who knew there was someone else out there who acted like Impmon. Takato ignores the threats. At least he knew what the problem was now.]

I do have an extra jacket, but I don't think it would fit you. And I have a sleeping bag. Actually, you probably have one too.

[He gives Takato a wary, disbelieving look. There was something wrong with this brat, he'd just said he'd kill him!]

Sleeping bag? [They'd barely been invented in Amestris, and certainly didn't look like what he was probably carrying. Not to mention he hadn't exactly kept up to date on the latest camping gear.]

[Takato just keeps smiling cheerfully. If there was one thing dealing with Impmon's more prickly moods haad taught him, it was never to let any words bother him.]

Yeah! If you unzip it it should work like a blanket.

[He just keeps looking suspiciously at him, waiting for the other shoe to drop. It takes him a minute of internal debate about waiting until the human leaves before following his advice or not. But it doesn't look like Takato's going anywhere soon. Who needs dignity anyway? He figures this extra smaller bag must be it, and pulls out the rolled up cloth inside before wrapping it around his shoulders like a cape.]

You didn't answer my question. Why do you give a damn anyway?

Do I have to have a reason? If I see someone in trouble I want to help them.

There's always a reason, everything comes at a price. So what's yours?

[Takato shakes his head.]

Not everything has to have a price. Sometimes people just want to help.

[He looks totally disdainful of Takato's idealism, because four hundred years of experience and nobody showing him anything like that have taught him otherwise. But he doesn't feel like arguing anymore. ~~and it doesn't feel too sickening to have someone at least act like they care~~] Yeah? Another one of your digimon things?

[He laughs, then grins, in an amused but not exactly friendly way] Creative with the names huh? So tell me, is this Impmon dangerous?

[The advice was as close to a thank you as you could get from Envy. Not that he'd ever admit he was grateful, even to himself. He starts walking back to the road, looking down at his Larvitar, which was looking much happier now that his trainer looked like he was feeling better] C'mon, Chimera, hurry up.
