Unknown Transformation [FOURTH WALL]
[There's one incredibly displeased homunculus skulking around Goldenrod City on Friday. He had been almost anticipating this weekend after last time, when he remembered getting all his powers back for those few days. And true, he did have them back now. Well, most of them.]
[The speed, the quick healing, and the strength are all present and accounted for. But something seems to have glitched on his transformation. Envy is stuck. Not in the normal, palmtree headed form everyone knows, that would be frustrating but tolerable. No, he's stuck in his true, original form. The first thing he did--after he was finished cursing and putting fist-sized holes in the nearest building--was steal himself a hoodie. He's too tall and broad-shouldered now to fit into anything he already owned, and he doesn't want to walk around showing this form to everyone and their Growlithe. Never mind that nobody would know it's him. It's the principle of the thing, damn it.]
[He can be found anywhere in the city that day, hood pulled up over his head and hands shoved in his pockets, wearing a scowl on his face. And occasionally kicking trashcans to send them sailing a good twenty feet away. Despite the jacket, he doesn't notice the heat at all. He's also being followed by a Tyranitar and a Zoroark that people familiar with him might recognize.]
[At midnight that night, though, whatever was wrong with his powers manages to fix itself. So he'll be spending Saturday and Sunday with his mood much improved, taking advantage of the few precious days a year when he gets to look however he wants.]
[That and cause as much no-consequences trouble as he wants.]

[action]
Aaahh! Sorry!
[action]
Henry? How did you do that?
[And after a second he remembers that oh right he looks like a completely different person and doesn't even have the same voice. And now Henry will get to see Envy looking awkward and stiff. He doesn't like this form and it's weird to have other people see it when he didn't specifically decide to show them.]
[...then again, he realizes, he doesn't have to reveal who he is if he doesn't want to.]
It's Envy.
[action]
[...]
[Why did Envy look like he belonged in a cologne commercial?]
You got a haircut.
[action]
[And then he can't help but laugh. He holds out a hand in Henry's direction, an offer to help his friend up off the ground.]
Yeah, I got a haircut and it made me grow a foot taller.
[action]
[Now he's looking at Envy closer and tracing his features for some trace of his dinosaur-riding buddy.]
Being tall is pretty cool though.
[ 8] Henry is a noodle man. He knows!]
Besides that, are you alright?
[action]
Yeah, I guess it is.
[He's starting to relax a little more.]
And...well, I've got my powers back. Most of them. All except the one that would keep me from being stuck looking like this. [But he can't help some of the frustration coming back into his voice, along with a scowl.]
[action]
Sorry, man...but. Hey. You can pretend it's Halloween. This'll end soon.
[He pauses again and thinks. And thinks. Then his grin returns. If Envy can't be happy, he can be for both their sakes.]
Let's cover somebody's house in toilet paper.
[action] Henry is a good friend ;-;
That, my friend, is an excellent plan.
Let's go find ourselves some toilet paper, then.
[action] HENRY LOVE FRIEND
There's probably a Payday around here somewhere. They sell it for super cheap.
[The photographer motions for Envy to follow him and quickly takes off at a sprint down the street. THERE WAS TOILET PAPER TO BUY.]
[action]
He has to admit, as much as he prefers the secrecy of magic in his home world, it is nice to just be able to walk through the streets of Goldenrod with a 140 kilogram blob of mercury following him around like some kind of featureless Pokemon. Not only is it fun to show off after being deprived of his abilities for so long, but... well, who knows who he'll run into? It's nice to have that little extra protection in case he runs into any unsavory characters.
...which he just might, given that he's probably going to cross paths with Envy and may not be paying enough attention to notice someone in a hoodie if they're about to collide with him...]
[action]
Hey! Watch it--
[Okay hold up he's going to stop the upcoming indignant shouting to stare at that blob of mercury because what in the hell is that?]
[action]
Perhaps you should be watching where you're going...
[...okay he'll notice that pause and... this is actually more enjoyable than he expected...]
You might run into some trouble if you don't, really.
forward tag to saturdayyy
[Miguel is playing his mandolin, and the sound of it heralds their approach as they walk through the streets of Goldenrod city, as if they never left it at all.]
no subject
[Still, he can't help but investigate. He turns a corner, and when he does see Miguel just walking down the street towards him like he's never been gone, he just stops and stares like he's seen a ghost.]
[JUST GIVE HIM A SECOND. He's never encountered people coming back from disappearances during these weekends, not when he could remember it.]
Miguel?
no subject
Envy! Hello! How are you?
no subject
[He starts striding towards Miguel, caught somewhere between being relieved and happy that Miguel has somehow shown back up and pissed off that he's acting like he never left at all.]
You disappeared!
no subject
[His voice falters a lot because now he's not sure anymore. He has been here, right? They're all still here, right?]
What? But when would I have...?
[Right?]
no subject
[Most of the anger starts draining out of his expression.]
You really don't remember?
no subject
No, nothing, but... I'm here again now. [super awkward attempt at smile. SORRY ENVY I DIDN'T KNOW I HAD BEEN GONE 8(]
heeeello
[But Goldenrod has its charms too, not to mention a familiarity he can't help but feel nostalgic about even if it hasn't been that long since he left, and he's walking the streets with a hidden sort of smile.]
[Especially as he looks at all the pokémon around. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT that he'd miss those, and it feels really empty to not have one snapping at his heels or buzzing ahead.]
[But that's life now, and he knows it's temporary, so he figures he'll just kind of enjoy THAT while it lasts.]
[Oh, and find Envy, if he can. If he's still there. ... if he remembers. >>]
[So he's scanning faces, sometimes grabbing shoulders, and generally looking around in the midst of just kind of going, oh, Johto, I actually missed you.]
fancy seeing you here 1/3
[And then there's Tulio, right there. Envy freezes for a moment, eyes wide.]
2/3
3/3
no subject
[Holding his hands up when that punch makes him step back, he then cuts himself short of whatever he was going to say when he finds himself with the relief and joy of recognition ... not to mention in a hug.]
[Okay, so it's safe to say that Envy does remember, then. He hesitates for a moment, but then wraps an arm around him back, the other gripping his arm.]
[He doesn't hug a lot but this sort of warrants it, you know.]
Hey there, buddy.
no subject
[And when Tulio speaks, a lot of the tension leaves Envy's shoulders. He wasn't sure what he'd do if Tulio finally showed up again and then didn't remember him. But now this weekend is shaping up to be not so terrible after all.]
Hey yourself, boss.
[He lets out a small huff of a laugh and pulls back enough that he can actually look up at Tulio, without actually letting go yet. If he lets go Tulio's going to vanish again, or turn out to never have really been there at all.]
You've been gone a while, I didn't think I'd see your face around here again.
no subject
[He understands the whole not-letting-go-thing, and he'll probably be quite touchy himself for as long as they stick around each other. Like this, he has a grip.]
[He snorts a laugh at the remark and rolls his eyes, but it's a fond thing.]
And I didn't think I'd actually miss this place. Miguel, sure. Me, nah ah.
I see you're still here, though. ... that's good.
no subject
[Envy knows, in the back of his mind, that this isn't permanent. These crazy weekends, what happens in them doesn't stick and when people come back they don't just show up like this. He knows that on Monday, Tulio will probably be gone again. He's decided not to think about it. For now, for just a little while, he's got his friend back.]
[He grins widely.] What's not to miss? Crazy animals, bizarre happenings, nothing ever making sense...
...if you missed it, does that mean you remembered when you went back?
action forever

[...and, well, if there's anything good about being stuck in this form, it'd be the opportunity to mess with Ed. He hasn't forgotten the spectacular reaction he got back in the underground, and getting to do that again would make his day so much better. But first, he's got to get Ed's attention.]
[He decides to do this by drawing up to walk alongside Ed and then casually sticking his foot out to trip him. He's spent the past two and a half years learning all about nonviolent ways to be incredibly petty and spiteful. And while the hoodie does cover most of his hair and hides his face from the side, if Ed looks at him straight on it'd be hard to miss the eyes and the facial structure.]
no subject
[Ed manages to catch himself with his right hand before his face meets the dirt. He shift his head up to look at the guy.]
[There, in the face he could see it and he glares. Ed gets to his feet, brushing his hands together.]
Got nothing better to do than trip people in the street, Envy?
no subject
What a lucky guess you've made. What gave me away, pipsqueak?
[He's looking infuriatingly casual as he shrugs, as though he couldn't care less that he's been figured out. From what he remembers of these weekends though, he is expecting Ed to have his alchemy back, so underneath that casualness he's ready for that.]
no subject
I've seen your ugly face enough to recognize certain features.
[Ed shifts to his feet, patting himself down with his hands to get the dust off his coat.]
Action! Accidental appropriate keywords?
Clearly the guy in the hoodie didn't warrant a chirp though, and Al ended up crashing right into him.]
no subject
[And during the fall, his hood slips off, revealing his golden hair and eyes in all their unmistakably Elric-y glory.]
Hey, watch where you're-- [wait a second he recognizes you. His expression goes from annoyed to sneering immediately.] Well, look who's shown up to the party.
no subject
[The words cut off abruptly when the other spoke and he untangled himself immediately, his pokemon making apologetic noises as it nosed at his side.]
There's no need to be so rude! I'm sorry I tripped you up, but we haven't met, have we? [Even if you looked a whole lot like his dad.]
no subject
I guess it's not too surprising, you not recognizing who I am in this form. Do you have any guesses, tin can?
no subject
But why would you...?
hi deadbro!! also, super-early caturday meowning
Come on now, Isis, this is no time to be playing games. {The tiny Raikou proceeds to bark an affirmative, and the illusion fades away to reveal a... Zorua!}
Surely Envy is around here somewhere...
no subject
[She'll probably hear him coming before she sees him. He's too strong to actually be forced anywhere by a Pokemon, but that doesn't mean he can't be loudly indignant about being dragged. He's also not paying attention to the people around him, so he doesn't see her yet.]
What the hell, Lilith, what's so important over here?
no subject
{Isis, recognising that mommy needed a little help, shifted into the guise of the little girl and grabbed Nanao's hand, towing the shinigami forward, the mass of cats swirling around behind.}
Envy! {Her shout is perhaps a little louder than she intended, but it is hard to concentrate on trivial matters when you're trying not to fall and break your neck.}
no subject
[His head snaps up to look in the direction of his sister's voice, eyes wide. A part of him registers the absurdity of her being followed by a swarm of cats, but he's pushed that to the side as unimportant.]
Nanao! [There's no need for Lilith to drag him anymore, because he's much faster running on his own. When he reaches her, he grabs her shoulders as though to make sure she's actually there. There are a lot of things he could say, but all that manages to come out is:]
When did you get here?
no subject
Just now! The first thing I wanted to do was find you. {That's all the warning Envy gets before Nanao envelops him in a crushing hug.} I'm so, so glad you're still here.
{She'd missed him so much - so much had happened, after she'd gone home, so much had gone to utter shit, so many had died... She felt wrung out, exhausted, and then to wake up in Johto - with powers intact, to boot - it felt like a second chance. Even if it was only for a short while.}
no subject
Heh, you know me. Nobody can get rid of me, not even a world.
[His grip tightens a little; he's afraid to let go, in case she vanishes right then and there.]
Good to see you again.
