43rd Transformation [video/action for anywhere | FOURTH WALL]

[Envy has been glitching around much more than he'd like to today, and now he doesn't know where anyone is. Or where he is, for that matter. Somewhere on a route, and near the ocean. But wherever he is, he's looking to get back to a city. He was transforming occasionally to pass the time, and as far as he was concerned was making pretty good time.]

[At least, right up until he was lifted off his feet by something invisible.]

[One of said invisible creatures picks up the 'Gear after it falls out of Envy's pocket, accidentally hitting the 'on' switch as it turns it over curiously in its little lizard hands. Anyone watching will get a good view of Envy apparently floating away three feet off the ground, with only hovering red zigzags in the air beneath him to give any kind of hint as to what is happening. He's trying to get back to his feet, but there are a whole lot of Kecleon, and it's difficult to get his feet under him for more than a few seconds even with his superpowers restored.]

Let go of me, you bastards! Where the hell are you trying to take me?

[And man, is he throwing a fit about it. Meanwhile, one of the red stripes scales his back, and appears to be holding a small crown made of long grass and sticks, which is carefully placed atop Envy's head.]

[Looks like someone's transforming powers have gotten him declared King of the Weird Chameleons.]

[The feed cuts out here, but the Kecleons aren't going to be able to carry him away for too much longer before he manages to stand up and escape…with a few literal hangers-on. Anyone who comes across him after said escape may notice the floating red zigzags either following after him or actually clinging onto him (try as he might to fling them away, they always seem to catch up again and climb back on eventually).]

[Yes, Altivo, that is exactly what is happening.]

[Envy's a bit preoccupied to notice the horse for the moment, but he does manage to pick one of the invisible lizards up by the tail and throw it over his shoulder. It lands right on Altivo's nose and hangs on there, abruptly becoming visible.]

[LIZARD SAYS HI.]

_{[W- NO THIS IS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT HE WANTED]

[And he reacts by bobbing his head violently to make the thing fly off, but it has quite a neat grip on him and ... you know ... doesn't want to get THROWN OFF, so he has no luck there which pretty much makes him dance on the spot before he starts running in a small circle.]

[WHAT DO.]

[NEIGH.]

[halp]}

[Envy, meanwhile, has finally gotten to his feet and is shaking off the Kecleon army. He's about to just book it out of there, but it's kind of hard not to notice the panicking horse now.]

[...and then he almost runs off anyway, but that looks like an actual, normal horse, and kind of familiar too, even if he can't quite remember how. It's strange enough that he winds up deciding to take pity on this fellow victim of Kecleon attack. He goes over to Altivo, holding up his hands and trying not to get run over.]

Hey! Horse! Quit moving, already!

_{[BUT THERE IS A THING ON HIS FACE HOW COULD HE POSSIBLY STOP MOVING]

[So he. Doesn't. Not at first, anyway - he continues for a few more moments before he realizes that this really isn't working, so after a few moments of kicking around some more he tries to stand still.]

[Key word being tries.]

[He's a jumpy horse. :c]}

[Fortunately, it's still enough for Envy to reach over and pull the now very dizzy and frazzled Kecleon off of Altivo's face, and toss it back with the rest of the crowd of lizards.]

Okay, there. You're free.

[Now Envy's going to start walking off before the Kecleons decide to try carrying him away again, muttering about stupid lizards and finding Tulio and Miguel, wherever they've gone.]

_{[Thanks, Altivo is very relieved now bu- wait where are you going. You saved him from the lizards! You're going to get stuck with a horse now.]

[Who will nudge you in the back as he just kind of trots along, staring worriedly behind himself for a moment. The were creepy. Jeesh.]

[-- also wait are those]

[names he recognises]

[NUDGE NUDGE NUDGE WHO WITH THE WHAT NOW]}

[What is this horse following him now. SEE IF HE RESCUES ANIMALS EVER AGAIN.]

What do you want now? I don't have any food.

[Attempting to dodge all that nudging!]

_{[NO DON'T DODGE jesus you're as bad as that tall lanky one, the mean one.]

[Altivo will just nudge a bit more, pretty damn insistently, and stomps the ground a bit to get more attention. He doesn't care about food, he just. What did you say DID HE EVEN HEAR YOU RIGHT]

[Where is the short one at least, can you show him where he is? Please?]}

Look, I have no idea what you want, horse. I'm just trying to get away from those lizards and find my friends.

[This is all complete with hand gestures. Envy may have gotten way too used to talking to animals here in Johto.]

[Misaki ignored her own problem with Madoka to see just what was going on with the strange man. Her shuppet flew past her to catch up with the poor bird. She thought she saw the man actually floating for a moment when she got closer.

Then she saw it.

She couldn't help but laugh at the crown on top of Envy's head. Of course with her face being distorted and messed up, you can't really tell. Her laugh even sounded terrifying. Whether it was her actual laugh or modified by her condition, I don't know.]

Just what is going on with you, King Palmtree?

[He hears the weird, creepy laugh, but doesn't recognize it as belonging to Misaki. That nickname, though, he definitely recognizes, and attempts to turn around to shout.]

Hey! I'm not King Palmtr--

[And then stops right in the middle, and even stops fighting to stand up as the lizards keep carrying him slowly away. EXCUSE HIM WHILE HE JUST KIND OF. STARES. Because what the actual.]

[Misaki is QUITE UNAWARE of her face's condition as you could probably tell. Of course, she doesn't exactly know why Envy just started to stare at her and just took it the wrong way.

She crosses her arms and 'just stared back at Envy, having no idea what was going on.]

What's with the stare? I know I have a pretty face but the staring's kind of creeping me out.

Is there something on my face?

[Envy is, for once, a little speechless. He's seen much, much worse than Misaki's face right now--he's been much worse, in fact--, but it's definitely a surprise that he's not sure how to respond to at first. Fortunately, he has the distraction of his reptilian kidnappers to provide a distraction to recover in.]

Doesn't matter! [He shouts back, turning away to deal with the Kecleons; he's grabbing the ones holding him up by the tails and tossing them a whole lot farther than he should be able to. It's not very dignified when he falls, but it does the trick before long. He kicks a few more out of the way as he gets to his feet, before jumping out of the crowd. It's a much bigger jump than any human would be capable of, and he lands all the way back in front of Misaki.]

Woah. [First time she's seen ANYONE get out of crowd like that so easily. Sure, she felt sorry for whatever was keeping him hostage that was getting hurt but man, it was like he was a one man army. And that jump, she's never seen anyone jump like that before. Of course, coming from a very mundane world, those thoughts was expected but still, it impressed the girl.

Misaki took a small step back when Envy landed in front of her, thinking he was going to run into her. She was looking at him with an impressed stare, though it can't be too obvious with her distorted face.] Nice escape there, Palmtree. How'd you manage to even get into a situation like that anyway?

[Envy can't make out the impressed look, which is probably a good thing since he's one hell of a vain showoff if there's an audience. But he does still look smug at having gotten away. Now that he's closer than before, Misaki might also see his strange, catslit eyes and how dead-person pale his skin is.]

[He frowns some at the nickname, and shrugs.] Hell if I know. They're invisible, how was I supposed to see them coming? Didn't help them in the end, though.

[He's still debating on whether to comment on her face. She doesn't seem to notice it, maybe it's supposed to be like that.]

[At a closer glance, Misaki could make out the homunculus's strange eyes and skin compared to the others. Chills ran down her back as memories of a certain nurse/dancer with similar features ran through her mind. Another memory she'd like to erase from her mind. As usual, it can't be helped so she shrugs those feelings off like she usually does..]

[Still, it made the girl curious on his appearance. As if the hair didn't stir up enough questions.] Have you always been this pale and your eyes...different?

[Envy may question her face in return if he wants to and he'll find out that it's NOT suppose to be like that. Either that or it'll horribly confuse the girl.]

This is how I'm supposed to look, back home. This place went and changed me into a human.

[There's not nearly so much disdain when he says 'human' as there used to be, but there's still a little.]

And what about you, has your face always looked blurry like that?

[YEP, WENT AHEAD AND ASKED. Too curious not to, although now that he's had a minute to get used to it, he's still talking to her normally.]

[Misaki noticed the slight disdain and was about to question until he asked that question.]

...what.. [First reaction was feeling up her face, though that won't do anything but hide the blurry distortions. Second reaction was panic.] Are you serious?!

[If Envy happens to have a mirror on him, she'll go crazy if he shows it.]

[Damn, so it wasn't supposed to look like that after all. GOOD GOING, ENVY.]

[He doesn't have a mirror at the moment, fortunately, although if he had to he could always transform to look like she did right then.]

Well yeah, if I was gonna make something up it wouldn't be 'your face is blurry'!

[Calming panicking people down is not one of his strong suits.]

[Looking at her face during these moments is something Misaki definitely doesn't want to revisit.]

[She turns her back away from him, not wanting Envy to see her face. There was another reason but it shouldn't affect Envy since he was technically "not human". ]

Well, it's NOT supposed to be "blurry"!! [At least not anymore, she muttered under her breath.] Was it like this the whole time?!

Yeah, I've figured that out!

[But then he does belatedly realize he probably shouldn't be yelling back, so what he says next is at a more normal tone.]

It has been, that's why I was staring at first. You really didn't notice until I said so?

[Misaki took in a deep breath, trying to remain calm. Her shuppet was nearby , just watching the situation.]

No, I didn't know. You can't really know unless you look into a mirror or die or something.

[She gave out a loud sigh.] It's probably why my tranquill ran off when she saw me. Damn bird hasn't done that since I first got her.

Probably. Your bird might've not even recognized you.

So you know what it is?

[She's talking like she might. He keeps his voice steady easily, since it's not like she seems to be dying right this second or anything.]

Yes....it's...just something from back home. [She feels its something that shouldn't be spoken about so casual, considering how it was a part of a mostly fatal disease but she also felt she shouldn't leave him hanging.]

... All I remember is that you're supposed to be dead by this point if this happens.

[He blinks, surprised. It did look terrible, from what he had seen, but she hadn't noticed and was talking normally; he hadn't expected to hear that she should in fact be dying right this second.]

Well you don't sound dead to me.

[...he's making some attempt to be reassuring, at least. He tries to walk around to get in front of her again, to be able to see her face again.]

But people don't die here anyway, so maybe it can't kill you.

That's the thing...I don't know what is going on with me or why this is even happening. [To be honest, her memory's not the greatest and she only saw this occur like...a few times in her childhood?]

[She noticed the man changing positions, probably to get a better view of her face. In response, she quickly covers up her entire face.]

[Out of impulse, she blurted out a question she thought she would never ask anyone here.] Do you know if its possible to...see spirits here or if they actually exist?

[He tilts his head a little at the sudden question.]

I'm guessing you're not talking about ghost types, since you've got one of those.

I've never heard of any other ghosts around here. Why?

Well... [She shakes her head, decided to not bother asking.] ..just wondering.

[At this point, it seems Misaki's face has returned back to normal but since she keeps covering it with her hands, its not noticeable. She most likely has no idea either.]

Kind of a weird thing to be wondering about.

[But he'll let it go if she doesn't want to talk about whatever it is. And as far as he's concerned, if she gets angry at him, at least she won't be freaking out as much about whatever crazy disease this is; angry he can deal with much easier than panicking.]

You know, you're not going to be able to walk around with your hands over your face the entire weekend.

[Hearing that comment, Misaki's hands were ripped from her face as they turned into fists out of anger. Now she wasn't a violent person nor has she ever resorted to violence out of anger but anger was pretty the only negative feeling she's used to since she to the rest of her emotions. She wasn't going to hit him though, that's going a bit too far.]

[As expected, her face finally looked normal although, her eyes looked somewhat teary.]

Don't you think I know that?!

Well if you know it, then--

[He'd started talking before what he was seeing quite caught up to him. Envy's a little startled by getting that much of an outburst so soon, but it's what he'd been aiming for. If she's angry that's less room for her to be scared, is how he thinks of it. The teariness he hadn't been aiming for but he gets the feeling that might be okay soon anyway.]

[Because, well.]

...I don't think you're going to have to worry about it after all. Your face is back to the way it was before.
