Eleventh Transformation [video/action]
[When the feed turns on, it's pretty immediately clear that Envy hasn't slept well in the last few days. There are circles under his eyes, and even his normally well-cared-for hair is looking unintentionally messy. In his free hand, one might see the crushed lemonade can he's absently turning this way and that. He's standing on the roof of the Goldenrod Department Store, leaning his elbows on the railing, and looking at the camera with a very carefully neutral expression.]
I've just recently found a pokemon, the one called Riolu. It belonged to Greed, but that bastard's gone and vanished. [His eyes narrow, but it looks like there's more than just frustration behind them; there's loss and confusion too. It's only for a few moments before he recomposes himself.] Anyway, it's small. Probably the egg he got for Christmas or whatever. I can't take care of some baby either way. [A wry look.] I'm not good with them. And I can't take every pokemon that idiot left behind.
So does anybody want it? If you're not in Goldenrod I can find some way to get it to you.
((ooc: This post made with permission by former Greed-mun. Riolu is level two, female, and has an Impish nature and likes to run. Envy would really prefer to give it to somebody that either Greed knew or he knows (unless your name is Alois Trancy), but if you're pretty clearly someone who'll take care of it he might still give it to you if he doesn't know you.))

You knew him?
I'm Envy.
Re: [video]
...Y-yeeh, we were pals. Can't believe he's gone...
[Is this... Scott feeling bad about something not directly related to him maybe? The horror.]
[video] sorry for the late D:
[He gives Scott a more considering look.] You wouldn't happen to want the Riolu would you?
[video] it's okay! :D
[And then Scott thinks to himself, for a few seconds, and gives a grin to Envy.] Well, Ramona has one, and it's awesome-ly powerful... Sure, I want it!
[The prospect of the little Pokemon being someone else's responsibility puts him in a better mood, too.] Good, I'll get it to you then. What city are you in?
Doesn't have a name as far as I know though.
Re: [video]
I'm in Azalea -- should I send a flying-type to pick it up? I've been catching some Pokemon to help out when I sell some eggs...
[Due to this being the day before his Skarmory egg hatched!] And I can name it -- what gender is it?
That'd work, just let me know when it's coming. And it's a female one, I think.
And sure, I'll send you a text.
((OOC: Can we assume Scott has it now -- he would have sent out one of his Pokemon that way.))
((OOC: Sure! Thanks so much for taking it btw))
((OOC: It's okay -- I was planning on getting Scott a Riolu somehow anyhow, and this is better then trying to get Ramona to give him one. c:))
Couple centuries ago, back when there were more thieves on the roads, the two of us would go out to lure them into attacking us. Except when they'd kill us we'd just get right back up, maybe toss some boulders or knock down some trees. Made them run like we were demons straight from hell. [He snickers.] That one was half his idea.
[After much walking, she and Romano had made it from Violet to Goldenrod safely. However, she wasn't expecting a seemingly depressed Envy to be the first thing she saw on the network when she arrived.]
[As she walks, she can see the Department Store building towering over the other buildings.]
Yes, it certainly is. It's been so cold lately yet my travel partner insisted that we leave right away.
I can meet you downstairs in the lobby, if you like.
Alright, then. I'm not too far now.
[video -> action] laaate *apologizes*
[He starts heading down to the store lobby though, keeping an eye out for her. It's putting him in a marginally better mood that he'll get to meet her in person at least. When he sees her he waves and heads over. He's wearing a grin, although he still looks tired and a little disheveled. She might also notice the bandages wrapped around one of his hands.] Hey!
[action] it's okay~ I'm late too because of school ;A;
[She waves him and waves back at him. She meets him halfway. She sees the bandages on his hands, but she decides to hold that question for later.]
Envy, I'm glad that we finally get to meet in person~
[action]
I believe I promised to show you around the city?
[action] Sorry I'm late, I had volunteer work to do!
Yes, I believe so. I'm lucky that the Department Store is so big, or else I might have lost my way.
[Notice that she has the ring you gave her for Christmas, Envy.]
[action] Don't worry I am hugely behind on everything afsdsf
I could start by showing you the view from the roof here, then you could point out anything that interests you and I'll lead you to it.
[action] *pats back*
Alright, sounds good to me. Lead the way~
[action]
[He nods to her and leads them to the elevator, and once upstairs over to the roof's edge. Goldenrod does look good in the sun, even with all the snowmelt.]
[action]
[Beatrice follows him to the elevator, up the stairs, and towards the roof's edge. She stands next to him and looks over the city. Her blue eyes are wide in amazement.] So this is what a city is like. It's quite different from the island.
[action]
[On the roof, he leans his crossed arms on the railing, grinning at her amazement.] I can imagine.
See anything interesting?
[action]
[Her eyes scan over the city before stopping on the radio tower. She points at it.]
That tower over there. [There's a slight pause.] I remember seeing some suspicious figures when I passed it last night.
[She doesn't frown, but she does continue to stare at the tower.]
[action]
That's the radio tower, though, sends out all the broadcasts in Johto I think. I tried to ask about the music that plays all the time, but they didn't have any answers. [He shrugs. He's honestly gotten pretty accustomed to the mysterious background music.] It's allowed to look around inside some, and I've heard that it's possible to get out onto the roof even. I might try that sometime.
Oh [He's just remembered this], I talked to that Battler guy you told me about.
[action 1:2]
Oh, I see now. [Beatrice knew what a radio was, but because of her isolation, she's never seen a radio tower before either. She frowns a little.] They must know a way to stop this music. I've gotten used to it somewhat, but I'd rather not hear this type of music any longer. Don't they have anything less repetive?
[Her smirk returns.] Oh? Wasn't he a bit odd? Still, he's the one who's providing me entertainment back home, so I guess I should be grateful he's shown up.
[action 2:2]
He is from the future... He even told me so himself. Not only that, but there's also this person called Lion who has a very strange resemblance to myself.
[action] I didn't forget this thread I swear
[He snickers.] I'll say. Don't think he much likes me either. [He looks curious though at the next part. Greed had been from Envy's future, that much they'd worked out, but it hadn't changed much and other than that he hadn't had any experience with that sort of thing.]
Resemblance? That's weird. [Envy is not a fan of strange, unexplained resemblances for some obvious reasons.] Did he tell you anything about the future?
[action]
[He approaches because he doesn't find Envy all that horrible anymore, really, and also because he wants to know:]
Hey, did you find anyone who'd take the blue thing?
[What is being sensitive. All he knows is that the bluething belonged to that guy Envy was fighting with back then, and not a whole lot of backstory Actually, no backstory.]
[action]
You look like you're in a good mood today. [It certainly was a reversal from their usual moods, on both their parts.]
[action]
[Especially on account of his two shins. Both Envy and Miguel had too many pokémon, according to Tulio's often-stated opinion. They took up too much room and work and care. Nevermind the fact that he did sort care for Bicho and Niña, but he was against weird magical animals by principle, here.]
[Tulio pulls a grin in response to that last one, that can easily be translated into something along the lines of 'oh, the suckers'. Slinging himself down onto a nearby bench, stretching out casually, he gets a bill from his pocket and proceeds to flaunt it by waving it in Envy's general direction.]
I think I'm getting used to that whole fake-gold-business they've got going on around here.
[action]
[Envy snorts when Tulio waves the bill at him, and takes a seat on the bench as well, putting his elbows on the back of it. Tulio might notice the bandages wrapped around his hand.] Yeah?
Ha, what'd you con them at this time?
[action]
Find the Queen. Classic. Works every time.
[He emphasizes this with a motion of his hand. And yeah, he did notice the bandages, and ends the motion with a point to them, cocking an eyebrow Envy's way.]
What's up with those?
[action]
You remember the guy who helped us out in that snowstorm? He'd gotten into some trouble himself, so I helped him. [Although even considering repayment, that's pretty unusual for Envy, especially if helping involved injury.]
[action]
[That eyebrow climbs higher, because he'd imagined Envy to be just as unwilling to help as Tulio himself. He scrutinizes the other for a second, but then decides that it's Envy's business, not his. But he does remember China and is intrigued.]
What'd he do, get attacked?
[Cause if Envy's injured, he can only assume.]
[action]
[He puts his good hand to his forehead.] Remind me never to get that kind.
[action]
[We have too many insane animals, Envy. Entirely too many.]
[He's not all that interested in the topic anymore, having assumed that if China wasn't okay after that, Envy would have said so, or at least implied it, or, you know, still be fighting that ghost. But he still asks.]
So uh, he's okay?
[action]
[Sensing Tulio's disinterest in the topic, he decides to ask instead] Are you pulling any more cons today? [The 'if you are, can I come too' is unspoken, but clearly present. This would be another example of Envy's sudden, odd concern to follow Tulio around a lot more than usual.]
[action]
[He says so dryly. Because 'death traps' is only a mild description for the 16th century so-called hospitals they had going back home. Everyone knew that if you went to one, you never came back. Knowing that things are much better here, though, still doesn't make him any less paranoid about getting sick. And while he might not let it on, he did feel a bit of worry at the news that China was injured ... because yeah. Hospitals = not good.]
[Buuut having mused on that, he gives Envy a sideways glance.]
I ... guess ...
[Yeah - he's noticed Envy's new thing for being, well, not clingy, but, you know. It's weird to him, because that's Miguel's part, and Envy did make a point of spending time with people that weren't Miguel or Tulio. - not that Tulio particularly minded that or anything, but yeah - this change was weird.]
[He studies him for a bit, all surveying. Suspicious. Because anything out of the ordinary is suspicious, and this has been going on for a while now, so he'll just leap at it.]
What's the deal with hanging around me so much lately?
[action]
[Although when Tulio asks that question he tenses a little, wary. He didn't like appearing weak, and that was...pretty much how he was acting now. Weak and pathetic, following around after his allies (he wouldn't say friends) like a lost puppy. And Tulio more than anyone aside from France. But he had to say something.] Greed disappeared. Anyone could.
[I don't want to lose anyone else.]
[action]
[There's a stretch of silence as Tulio just looks at him funny, not really getting the point.]
...Right. But you two didn't exactly seem to get along.
[Translation = why are you upset about it? It must've been a good thing he's gone, right? And no, Tulio does not understand that he might be somehow important to Envy. He rolls his eyes in addition to his next words.]
Besides, it's not like we can do anything about it. This place is creepy.
[action]
[He shrugs.] Now I'm the only homunculus in this world.
[At the last part his eyes narrow.] Yeah, I know we can't. This fucking place can mess with us however it wants and there's nothing we can do.
[action]
[He looks very disbelieving, but ... yeah, it's whatever. It's Envy's business. He can keep his "complicated" relations, and Tulio will keep to his simpler ones. That's life, to him - keep it simple. Even if his plans seemed a bit grand at times, they were still simple if you broke them down. Why complicate things?]
[He looks at Envy with some interest, though, at that - while he didn't know much about Envy's true form, what he did know he found hard to believe. Buuut then again, he owned a two meter dragonfly and had found a city of gold and really wasn't one to talk.]
[So instead, have an "argh" noise in agreement and muttered words while doing the universal hand-on-face-so-tired-of-this-shit gesture.]
I hate being messed with.
[action]
[He nods in agreement at the last part though, frowning.] And these things always seems to happen the moment people stop paying attention. Who knows, maybe it's keeping us all on our toes.
I'd rather not be caught off guard. I figure if I keep an eye on people they might not be the next ones to go.
[action]
[But hey, that's - oddly ... touching? Maybe? Tulio's not that great with emotions, but the fact that Envy even seems to care to want to 'keep an eye' on him, that's something he wouldn't have expected.]
Uh ... thanks, I guess. But maybe people just, you know, [waves hand around] go home. I wouldn't mind that.
[action] herpderp super late /sob
Yeah, I guess going home wouldn't be too bad. [He's actually not entirely sure at this point that he even wants to go home. If he had his powers back in Johto it would be even less of a contest. He's quiet for a minute before speaking up again.] What would you be doing, if you did go home?
[action] all cool /o/
[Realizing now Envy doesn't actually know that story, and he feels like sharing it. He does know how to be social and he's started trusting Envy more lately. Besides, it's a story to be told.]
They thought we were gods, gave us the stuff on platters. And I mean literal platters. Made of gold. Hah, we were in the middle of loading up on it and hauling ass home before they figured us out.
Best con in a lifetime.
[He gives Envy a grin that's quite content, because those are some good memories.
If he only knew, right][action]
Trying to imagine you as any kind of god is pretty interesting. [He snorts, shaking his head slightly.]
[action] sorry this took me YEARS.
[Clearly. But he doesn't say so with too much seriousness, more like some sort of deadpan banter.]
And hey, it worked! I thought they were going to have our heads when they brought us into the city, but then they started talking about the "gods" and we just ... [Waves hand vaguely, grinning a little] went with it. We got everything. We even had a temple. Made of gold.
[Is he just a bit wistful? Yes, just a bit.]
