Ria's been shuffled through trainers; from Zuko to Katara to Envy, back to Katara and finally back to Envy once more. She only really liked Zuko, and is still hoping for him to return, but after being uprooted so many times she's not so sure he ever will. She was stolen and forcibly evolved by Team Rocket, and once she was returned she and Envy started getting along much better.
